My research interests are statistical physics and computational biophysics. My current project is a joint effort with Dr. Steve Leonard to characterize binding interactions of candidate inhibitors for the SHP-2 enzyme using molecular dynamics.
I joined IWU in 2014 after 16 years in the Republic of Yemen where I taught physics at Sana’a University and worked in educational development as the International Project Coordinator for the Mathematics and Science Teacher Education Reform in Yemen (MASTERY) Project.
I am married to Anna, my wife of 34 years, and we have 4 mostly adult children. My outside interests include reading and speaking Arabic, Old Testament studies, singing and playing Ultimate. When I grow up, I hope to be a professional Ultimate player.
